Building Resilience provides a guide to set up and train teams to accompany civil society organisations in strengthening their digital protection practices with an intersectional, holistic and community-centred approach.
Digital Defenders Partnership is thrilled to present Building Resilience: The Digital Protection Accompaniment Manual, a tailored long-term programme of activities, including sustainable responses to threats, mentoring, and community building within the broader ecosystem of support to human rights defenders under digital siege.
Building Resilience: The Digital Protection Accompaniment Manual serves a dual purpose. For digital security experts, it is a resource for permanent consultation during their accompaniments. For organisations seeking to establish their own digital protection accompaniment programmes, it is a guide to adopting DDP’s model developed after years of experience.
The manual comprises a set of short articles organised into four parts:
- Part I defines the foundations of the Digital Protection Accompaniment Model.
- Part II is devoted to the building of accompaniment teams.
- Part III provides guidance on how to carry out a digital protection accompaniment. There is a section for each phase of the accompaniment – selection, onboarding and planning, intervention and mentoring, and closing.
- Part IV shares resources for accompaniments.
Building Resilience: The Digital Protection Accompaniment Manual is available in English and Spanish (French coming soon) at manual.digitaldefenders.org.
